A NH Fire Tower Quest day. Climbed up from the main pkg. lot. I didn't realize the loop trail descended so much! Terrific views on this nearly clear day from both the road and the summit. Unfortunately the house wasn't open but noticed the fire ranger truck so I tried the tower entrance. It was open.. on a Monday! After climbing the stairs he let me into the upper tower area, and we had a nice conversation. He told me a couple of cool stories about the tower site and the surrounding area. Also met a local walking his dog on the road back down. Left this place a happy camper!
