19th party to ascend since 1954 according to the register. Also the earliest it has been climbed. Ascended a gully further south than the kane route. Had a couple moves we weren't comfortable with down climbing. Made for a terrible descent that took longer than the ascent. kicked steps out the kane gully. apporx. 50%-60% snow slope. Mountain is a horrible mess of loose rock.

Nice! I was thinking about this one for Sunday, but with rain in the forecast, and your less than enthusiastic trip report.... I might put it off for a bit. Do you think the Kane gully will still be messy when dry?

I can only imagine how much loose rock is in that gully when dry. But it has to better than with snow to be in the Kane book. I think Alexp is gong to give it a try before the weekend
