Walked from Browning Bivvy where I'd stayed the night up to Lathrop Saddle in the dark and half light using a headlamp. Saw two mobs of deer on the way. A stag with one of the groups was "roaring" as it is the start of the the rut. (breeding season)
From the saddle I picked a route up through a break in the bluffs and then headed across an area of undulating jumbled blocky rock and depressions with remnant snow and ice to the summit. The summit had a rock cairn on it. Views were good in all directions with the sky cloudless from SE to SW.
Although Autumn (Fall) here in NZ these conditions were Summer conditions as there have been no decent snowfalls yet this year.
