I dragged Jeff out to Kootenay NP to attempt Haffner. There was a bit of wishful thinking and a huge amount of physical effort involved in bushwhacking and snowshoeing, but ultimately once we ran into whumpfing and a weak crust in the meadow below the summit push we backed off. Will go back in larch season for this one, I think. Lots of avalanches throughout the day on the slopes, so it's good to play it safe.
