"Hiked with Dean this morning. Temps in the 60s, pretty calm and clear. Started out the hike on the wrong foot. Had no service at the trailhead, and I didn't download the map ahead of time. I saw the private road sign on one road so we started up the other choice. Wasted nearly 2 hours and 2.5 miles of boot leather before we realized it. The actual trail to the summit was an old roadway for roughly 2 miles and then it was basically a bushwack up steep terrain to the summit for the last half mile. The bat cave was cool as was the old quarry. The summit is fully treed." — garyogden • Aug 12, 2026
"A mountain I'd looked at for years & finally decided to do. The first two miles were pretty easy following old quarry roads, but the last .8 was untouched &
I proceeded to post hole my way to the summit. The bat cave was definitely cool & no I didn't go in to disturb them like some people had as evidenced by
their tracks. Nice views of both Bromley & Stratton just above the cave." — billsussdorff • Feb 5, 2020
