"Rode the bus line #6 from central Santiago de Compostela all the way out to end of the line to the San Marcos neighborhood and hiked the 5-10 minutes up to summit, which is called the “Mountain of Joy” because in medieval times this was the first point at which pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago could catch a glimpse of the towers of the cathedral. Sadly, today suburban developments and trees cover up this joyous vista, so it’s more of a traditional stop than anything else—very underwhelming. A good hour’s walk one-way from old town." — trevorhuxham • Oct 19, 2013
