I rode up Log Cabin Mine Road on my dual sport and parked at the camp. Some distant thunder sounded as I was about a half mile or so from the summit so I made haste and picked up the pace as a lite shower started to fall. I reached the summit took a few pictures and headed back down getting a little hail in the process. The rain subsided by the time I got back to my bike and I hightailed it down the dirt road in pretty good time. When I reached Tioga road I could see a lot of weather happening up near the pass guarding my way back to Tuolumne, so in a lite rain I hung a left instead and hunkered down under an information Kiosk where I read up on Mono lake and the Lee Vining area. After twenty minutes or so I succumbed to boredom and decided to just make a run for it abandoning my good judgement in favor of a more expedient solution. I made it back wet and cold but alive and happy I got out for the day.
