Day 4 of a holiday based at Santon bridge. Fine sunny morning, set off from Greendale farm near Wastwater, up the path initially near the Gill, then branched right up through rocky outcrops, enjoying good views as we gained height. The views on top are tremendous, with the full extent of Wastwater screes revealed and a clear view of Scafell Pikes, Mickledore and Scafell. After spending some time on the summit, we descended the N ridge to a boggy area at 465m, north of Greendale tarn, the views were excellent throughout. Here we continued N for another 1.5Km to High Pikehow on the lower slopes of Haycock, but decided as time was pressing, we would head SW to the summit of Seatallan 693m and then descend via Glade How and Buckbarrow back to the road.
