I have driven to the Natural Park of La Font Roja near the city of Alcoy, the north face of the Sierra del Menejador is a magnificent Mediterranean-type forest full of holm oaks and maples. I have started the route from the hermitage to the recreational area and upon reaching the Pla de la Mina area where there is a lime kiln and a reconstruction of a charcoal kiln, a path begins to the left that ascends strongly in the middle of a forest extraordinary. In some sections you can see steps carved into the stone and polished by the footsteps and the years.
In the upper area I see several vultures as I go towards Alto del Pilat and La Teixereta (earwig in Spanish). Then I head towards the Menejador peak where there is a Forest watchtower and under an oak I have a little lunch.
Later next to the hermitage I refresh myself in the fountain with really good and cold water.
