I was going to be hiking by myself, and I wasn't ready to venture out to a new peak in the snow this time of the year...so I thought Mailbox was a good choice for me since I have done it a few times before. Traction devices were used. Icy snow patches were found starting at 2,500'. Inversion is causing Seattle to look all gloomy, cold and foggy, but it was a fantastic day to be up on Mailbox! It was so warm up on the summit, it felt like spring hiking! 360 degree views of the cascades. Just beautiful!
