"Nice loop from Mt Beacon park hitting the 6 peaks for the month of September. The recent rain storm did some damage on the trails, the beginning of the Casino trail had a serious gouge cut into it. " — Nimblefoot • Sep 3, 2021
"Headed up to Mt Beacon Park to visit Lambs Hill West and Scofield Ridge North to close out the month of June. Added the other 5 peaks just for shitz and giggles and making a loop hike from RT 9D/Holland Ave. Snacked on the just ripening blueberries all the way around. Now that Covid has finally simmered down I’m back to picking up the numerous bits of trash left behind." — Nimblefoot • Jun 25, 2021
"Awesome Hike. 9.9 miles loop or North and South Beacon all the way out to Bald Hill and Lamps Hill. Great views. Gets windy on the ridge! Watch the ice if you go early in the day. " — jonl • Nov 19, 2020
"Another exceptionally warm & sunny Fall day that had me back in shorts and a T. Wanted to take a break from yard work so headed up to the Hudson Highlands to tag Scofield Ridge North for my Hudson Valley grid along with Bald Hill and Scofield Ridge to close out my 12th round of the Hudson Highlands Peak Challenge. Made it a nice loop of trails, dirt roads and some easy whacking to also include the two Lambs, South Beacon and North Beacon. The trails were nice and dry for the most part and the waterfall along Fishkill Ridge trail was running spectacularly. Since the COVID Congestion of most trailheads has begun to ease up considerably I was able to get a spot in the tiny lot at the end of Pocket road even with my casually late arrival of mid-morning." — Nimblefoot • Nov 5, 2020
"Trying to stay local by doing a nice loop in the Hudson Highlands. Got the last spot in the small lot at the end of Pocket Road. Encountered a number of other hikers most of whom were abiding by the social distancing rule as best as possible." — Nimblefoot • Apr 1, 2020
"Quite the sweat fest of a hike with the high humidity and temperature. Fortunately the clouds covered the sun at times and there was breeze on the summits. A loop of the seven peaks from the Mount Beacon Park with no lollygagging. Not a lot of other hikers out and saw no one on the summits even though the parking lot was 3/4 full at 8:30am. Most folks were probably smarter than I and did a shorter hike in the morning only as the lot was almost empty at 1pm. On my way over to Bald Hill I witnessed two Pileated Woodpeckers being very chatty without doing any pecking on the trees they landed on, I assume it was some sort of territorial dispute, quite unique." — Nimblefoot • Jul 21, 2019
"Did a nice loop of Bald Hill, Lambs Hill and West Lambs Hill from Mt Beacon Park. Overcast sky and breezy with the temp. around 50* so warm enough for shorts. First hike wearing trail runners, dodging muddy patches and jumping over spring runoff, after months of wearing boots of one sort. Sighted Dutchman’s Breeches blooming along the Fishkill Ridge trail and a coyote cruising through the woods near the summit of Bald Hill. Heading back to the PA so I’m passing many groups, small and large, heading toward their destinations hoping for good views of the valley." — Nimblefoot • Apr 27, 2019
"It was a perfect day in which to explore the Beacon Mountain area. The weather was just about as perfect as one could ask for; 50's and not a cloud in the sky. The views were incredible and the sunset put forth otherworldly colors." — Right-On • Oct 30, 2018
"A Rip Van Winkle hikers outing in the Hudson Highlands for a change of pace. Visiting Lambs Hill West, Lambs Hill and Bald Hill while red lining the Fishkill Ridge and Overlook Trails. A beautiful day allowing the out of towners to see the valley sights, like the Manhattan skyline, Stewart airport, the Gunks and the Cats in the background." — Nimblefoot • Nov 28, 2017
"Got the wife out on a local hike and potential brewery and/or distillery visit. Did a loop of Lambs Hill West, Lambs Hill and Bald Hill from Mount Beacon park. Because of our late start we got one of the last spots in the parking lot then on our return cars were parking everywhere, including up and down the side street. Fortunately 2 Way Brewery near the Beacon train station had plenty of parking, good beer and one dry hard cider on tap." — Nimblefoot • May 21, 2017
