"Long hike from Santa Cruz and via the old goldmines on the way to the summit, then on to Boca Prins... Great day - loved the terrain, trails, scenery, hills, goats and sun! Of course the wind dropped today so really, really hot out there - grateful to have lots of water and to be wearing hiking socks and boots. I'm not sure the distances are accurately described. I am a seasoned long distance hiker and took longer than anticipated. The trails were all in good condition, not always clearly marked or in agreement with the park map! Made for an adventure :). Will add some pgotos when I get home." — JustJulie • Jan 10, 2016
"Short Great Hike to the Top, All climbing Stairs No actuall Path. Its the highest Point of the Island of Aruba but nothing more. Great View overlooking the whole Island!! Still a great workout for an afternoon Break away from the Ship.." — Nuernberger • Feb 9, 2014
"The road up to Jamanota (pronounced Yah-man-ota)was closed, so we parked off the side of the road at the gate (though the gate was down). It was a hot, short hike. From where I parked, it was 3/4 of a mile to the top, took about 20 minutes. Views are better at the circle just before the final turn (at the gate and small building). Lots of goats and good paths through Arikok National Park. If you take the trails to the north, you pass some old gold mine ruins and shafts. Very neat place, you can see the whole island." — edwandall • Sep 20, 2011
