I drove from the Jubilee Pass area out the Harry Wade Road. It had been recently bladed but it was very clear that the road washes out badly & often. Be sure to check conditions. It also had deep sand in places. I first stopped at Saratoga Springs, which I highly recommend. It was a stunning, lush desert oasis. I then went out the rough road past the springs turn-off & parked across from the dune as close as I could get & hiked about a mile across the desert. I went up one side of the dune & down the other. The top was knife-ish in places & hiking through the deep sand was tiring, but the views were almost surreal & really pretty. Verbena was in full bloom & smelled wonderful.
