"Day 3 of a walking holiday at Bassenthwaite. A dull morning started with thick cloud on the higher hills, so we decided on a traverse of some of the lower hills in NW Lake District. Starting at a car park at the W end of Whinlatter pass, we dropped down to Scawgill bridge near Spout Force waterfall, then walked up the steep slopes of Graystones adjacent to the forest wall, at about 350m we traversed to the adjacent lower summit of Kirk Fell (Lorton). The clouds lifted. We continued our walk onto the neighbouring hills of Graystones, which has 2 summits. To continue our traverse of these low hills, we then descended NE, then E over Widow Hause to Broom Fell and Lords Seat." — davidlong • Aug 29, 2017
"From the car park south of Darling How. Took the path west down to Scawgill Bridge, and then followed a path steeply up north by the forest edge to the true summit and on to the Wainwright top. Cloudy with a few brief sunny patches, but remained dry. Strong south-west wind. Continued on to Broom Fell. With DB and BC." — marktrengove2 • Dec 10, 2016
