The Condor Peak Trail is not a very popular one. I had the trail to myself all day long on a Saturday. The climb is long and gradual through mostly non-shaded forest landscape. Some sections are a bit overgrown, which only became an issue with my shins because I didn't wear long pants. The only true steep section of the trail is the final burst to the top of Fox Mountain. A use trail leaves the Condor Peak Trail to gain the summit of Fox Mountain on the NW side of the peak. From the top, I could look out at the surrounding mountains, with the closest being Condor (but not that close). I considered pressing on to also bag Condor, but I was ready to head back with the realization that 14 miles was enough time out there, especially after a late start. Hopefully I can do Condor some other time, but from a different starting point.
