"Made a quick one after getting off from work in N. Orange County (also where I live) at 1 pm. I needed some time in the local mountains, and Elsinore Peak was a nice, mellow warm up for another peak I would later visit near Blue Jay Campground shortly after this one! Great, cool onshore breezes and fresh scents made this visit even better than usual (my 3rd visit there). I did the same as usual, following the service road up from S. Main Divide to the top!" — brianpowell • Oct 29, 2019
"Made a quick stop after completing San Mateo Peak. Short climb up a dirt road to the summit. Could see the orange peaks in the distance which were covered in poppies way across the lake, but the views were a bit distorted by hazy clouds. Hung out on the summit overlooking the communication towers for a few minutes before heading back." — MikeTeeples • Mar 24, 2019
"Just like my last trip on 5/21/16, I parked at the dirt area by the fire road off Main Divide Road South and made the very short .5 mile to the summit. Very short and extremely easy hike with awesome views. Great views not only of the inland empire, but also the rest of the Santa Ana Mountains. Did this short hike after hiking Vicker Benchmark and Horsethief Peak, and taking a 15-25 minute ride on Main Divide South, which is paved. There are two survey markers on the peak." — brianpowell • Dec 10, 2016
"Very short and easy hike from S. Main Divide Rd. up a dirt utility road to the towers.. Maybe a mile round trip and a modest elevation gain of 240'. The summit is just to the northeast of the easternmost tower facility on a small mound. There are two survey markers about 30' apart on the summit mound. Great views and fresh breezes; probably very hot in summer." — brianpowell • May 21, 2016
"After finishing the Morgan trail, I decided to drive down the road and bag this tiny peak. There is a parking area at the bottom of the hill, but there is a road that would be passable for most vehicles that leads right to the top, but I wasn't going to chance it in my tiny honda. The peak is about 1/3 of the mile off the paved road and it covered in communication towers. When I was there, there was a crew working on the towers. Walk past the towers to the tiny peak and you will be treated to some great views of Lake Elsinore, Mt. San Jacinto, and Mt. San Gorgonio in the distance. There are some other trails in the area to make it into a longer hike." — aaronm • Jul 15, 2015
"Went the .5Miles up the road, it was a nice day, nice drive, I enjoyed it. Some people were out hang gliding which was really cool. Stopped at the roadhouse on the 74, good place for lunch." — smsickler • Jun 2, 2012
