"Summited with guide. Slept in refuge, left at 0030h, would have seen the sunrise at the top if it were not a blizzard. I live vicariously through others photos. Still a great fun climb. " — dougbarton • Feb 25, 2026
"The most demanding thing I've done to the date so far. But sure it is a beautiful climb!
There was ~40 ppl in the Refuge that night, ~10-12 groups or so. About 50% of them turned back midway." — alexp • Feb 1, 2025
"Despite a long sandy grind before the Rucu Pichincha summit block, we enjoyed some easy scrambling on the ascent. Things went so well, we decided to add a few more to our day. A steep descent brought us to a well defined trail leading to Ladrillos. After that, we reconnected with the main traverse trail and went up Padre Encantado. This was our first full day in Ecuador, and an excellent introduction to the terrain and elevation. " — ivo • Oct 1, 2023
