"6/25/25: From the Fletcher saddle it appeared that our weather window was staying open, albeit with dark clouds still developing to the west and east of us. We all agreed that we should make a push for Drift along the 3rd Class scramble route knowing that an early turnaround was a possibility. After going over the first step we had to consult some on-hand beta from 14ers.com to go around the next step to climber’s right to avoid a potential 5th class down-climb. Upon our return, we had a good view of this pitch from the top of the next step which looked like there was possibly a C3+/C4 downward traverse on a small ledge that avoided the C5 face. Perhaps a problem worth trying to solve next time?
We made our way up the NW face of the final point, sticking to moderate C3 with decent rock and passing through a small notch of the rib. It was an easy scamper from here up to the Drift summit where we miraculously found the weather to be even fairer than when we started.
After a short lunch we retraced our steps back to the Fletcher saddle and made a decent glissade down to the Fletcher Flats. Coming off the Flats, we made an even nicer glissade back down to the Monte Cristo East Fork ..." — LoneWolf • Jun 25, 2025
