To get to Dawson from Pine Mountain, I descended the south facing slope of Pine. It was quick going down, but the winds were really howling up there. Pretty much after reaching the summit of Pine and on the way to Dawson, the winds were intense. It stayed that way until I returned to the summit of Pine (I guess I was passing through a wind corridor). The trail to Dawson was easier than it looked. After descending from Pine, the trail followed the ridge to Dawson. Climbing Dawson was much easier, and I was at the summit of Dawson nearly before I knew it. Between Dawson and San Antonio (Baldy), it looked like a straight shot. Unfortunately, I wasn't up for extending my hike today. I returned the way I came which meant that I had to re-climb Pine Mountain up the south slope to continue down the ridge and back to my parking area.
