"Hidden Valley traverse! Started from Hidden Valley park TH in 32 degree weather and did a clockwise loop tagging all peaks in the area, finishing off with Hidden Valley Peak. A lot of loose steep sections, took one digger on the steep path down from Hidden Valley Peak. Great day to be out (and only missed 1 1/2 of daughters volleyball games in the convention center). "My wife and I did a little leg stretcher of a hike before returning to Incline Village. We dropped off a 10’ truck at the U-haul complex right across the main road. The hike is short and scenic right out of a fairly new housing complex. We chatted with a couple descending near the summit, they basically recommended we avoid looking for a house in Reno and try Carson City instead. The weather was late summer fantastic, great day to get on the lake with a paddleboard or kayak." — Nimblefoot • Nov 2, 2025
"Very fun evening hike that included watching commercial jets takeoff and land at Reno/Tahoe International Airport, seeing the sunset over the Sierras and seeing the city of Reno from atop the mountain. " — rick-brown • Jun 4, 2025
"Nice day and there is no longer snow on the trail. It's a relatively short trail and has some steep sections. Steep in the beginning, evens out a bit, gets steep again, evens out, then the final push to the actual peak is a light bit of scrambling. A good, short climb for nice views of Reno and Mt. Rose. Will be doing this again. " — alexehagen • May 1, 2022
"Easy, straight forward trail. If you park at the trailhead, it's about 5 miles and some change. If you park further down near the end of the road, it's roughly 4 miles.
Currently, wild flowers are in bloom on the upper parts of the trail. Good beginner peak bag. :) " — alexehagen • Apr 3, 2022
