"May 24, 2026. Three days and three Hood summits. Started 30 minutes earlier today and checked out West Crator Rim conditions, but the snow was too aerated and no overnight freeze on the upper mountain left the snow too soft for comfortable climbing conditions, we aborted and went over to trusty 1 o'clock instead. Ski conditions were still pretty firm and choppy coming down from DK. With Ryan. " — runningvegan • May 24, 2026
"May 22, 2026. Cruiser conditions. Solid bootpack. Up 2 o’clock. Down 1 o’clock. Skied down from Crater Rock, highest ski yet. Best skiing conditions on Hood so far. With Ryan." — runningvegan • May 22, 2026
"Climbed with a group of four other longtime friends from childhood and/or college. Great way to continue to gather and share memories over the years. We tried this climb in 2024 and faced a 4 day blizzard in May -- this time around weather could not have been any better. Climb took 10.5 hours roundtrip from Timberline parking lot. Busy day on the mountain!" — MarmotHead • May 3, 2026
"Spring Ski from the summit of Mt. St. Helens. Started a little after 4:00, summitted around 10:30. Ski down was pretty bad with mashed potato type snow. Skied almost to chocolate falls before we had to walk another 3 miles back to the car." — theodowd • Apr 5, 2026
"February 6, 2026. Carried skis for the first 1.5 miles. Skinned with a few areas that we had to take off skis over rocks until hitting the ridge. It was easier to just carry skis at that point. Probably could have skinned a little bit more after reaching the seismograph, but our skins were pretty wet at that point. Solid bootpack except for the last 400 meters to the rim. A warm, calm day until we were almost at the rim. It was pretty windy and cold up top. Put on layers, ripped off skins, and skied down. Really nice corn skiing that ended too soon back at the ridge. Booted back out from there. With Ryan. " — runningvegan • Feb 6, 2026
