"This trail is quite nice. Well maintained dirt trail, beautiful aspen groves, and moderate incline. There are a couple of creek crossings, but this time of year all of them except for the first one are completely dry. There are a couple of downed aspen trees over the trail about 0.9 miles in, but they are easy to walk over. The trail gets quite a bit steeper at the 1.3 mile mark, more of the “hard” category than moderate I would say.
The push to desolation peak has a trail (even though the map says there is none), but the push to silver benchmark peak is a bushwhack. I tried to follow the game trails but there’s only so much you can do. 2 more wasatch crest peaks bagged!" — easton • Sep 25, 2024
"Another 4 peaks checked off on the wasatch crest! The fall colors are in full swing today! Small amounts of snow left on the summits in the distance, nothing to deal with at this elevation. Trail is mostly dirt/gravel access road except for the summit pushes. Very easy trail, nice to jog on the way down. Wooded section at the beginning is gorgeous." — easton • Sep 19, 2024
"Nice little afternoon hike/jog. Decided it’s time for me to start bagging the peaks around PCMR and DV, so here we go!
(Guardsman peak should be called tri-county peak, hopefully my change gets approved)" — easton • Sep 10, 2024
"Great loop that took in all the peaks around Guardmans Pass. Ridge of Clayton Peak still a few small pockets of snow. Could hear the finish line announcer of the Cirque Series trailrace over at Brighton. View of upper snow on Timpanogos good recon for tmrw. Was fun to see the Hourglass Couloir off Jupiter Peak after skiing it a lifetime ago. In the summer it looks rowdier than I remember. " — scott • Jun 29, 2024
"Late start: third parking lot. Needed to go off trail to get to the route. Terrible bugs. Eventually, made it to Bloods Lake and then started the climb of 1200 ft to Clayton Peak. The ridge was steep at points, flat at others, and very rocky, so we moved up and down it at a turtle's pace. Saw the Brighton Cirque Series Race from the top. Decided to go in a huge loop back to the parking lot, hitting Mount Venture (designated on the trail as Peak 10420), and then descending to the road. Then we continued on the hot and breezy trail peak bagging some more, before finding a cut through to the parking lot." — summit • Jun 29, 2024
