"Spent the weekend at Williamson Lake. Attempted Foley the day before but it was all cloud so we didn’t bother. Cleared up in the evening. Spectacular stars again. Went to bed at midnight after watching three hikers coming down Welch in the dark. Woke up at 4:30 am to clear skies and started hiking at 4:45. Amazing sunrise and views all round. Summited at 7:15am. Incredible visibility. Headed back down fairly soon in order to make it on time for a 4:30pm arrangement. Reached the lake around 10:20am. "Couldn’t get anyone to come along with me so I finally went out on my own. Drove out to Chilliwack and up Foley Ck FSR. Parked at the trailhead to Williamson Lake and started hiking at 6:45pm. Made it to the lake in 50 minutes. Set up camp and enjoyed the evening. Brilliant starry sky that night. Woke up just before sunrise and had breakfast in bed as I watched the sun hit the peaks across the valley. Started hiking at 7am and was in the shade all the way up to the col. summited Foley at 8:45am. What an amazing weekend. Clean and clear views all around. Spent a good hour up there relaxing and watching others summiting Welch. Headed down and came across several others heading up to Foley. Back at the car by noon. " — PabloBruneau • Aug 15, 2020

"Drove out to Foley lake and parked the car there. Couldn’t make it further due to washouts and lack of 4x4. It took us an hour to hike the road up to the trailhead where there were others trucks parked. From there it was 1.5 hours to Williamson Lake. After a short break we continued up the south ridge to the peak, which we reached 2.5 hours later. Great views on the way up, but completely socked in at the top. "...continued from Baby Munday trip report... Woke up to cloudless blue skies on Canada day. After a light breakfast and a 45min hike, we were on the summit of Stewart Peak. My friend was still a little scared and wouldn't stand up at the peak, but much better this time. Amazing views all around, especially of the Cheam Range. This peak being 'out of line' with the rest of the peaks in the range makes it a great vantage point to observe all the other peaks. "Drove out to Chilliwack in the evening and camped at the Baby Munday trailhead. 8:00am start the next day and a 3.5 hour hike to the lake, which was still frozen over. Stopped for lunch and to set up camp, then headed up The Still. Roughly 45min to summit on loose rock. First real mountain climb for my Albertan friend, who was so scared he couldn't even stand up at the peak. It took quite a bit of encouragement to even get him to the peak. Glad he made it, and back down as well.
