"Third time's the charm! After two previous summer attempts to summit and ski Peak 10, I finally made it to the top (though not without some treacherous moments!)
Parked at the Ski Patrol shack at Peak 9 and hiked up the service road (CR 751) to the Peak 10 summit ridge. The wind was gusty and swirly, with completely calm moments punctuated by 50+ mph gusts from multiple directions as the wind swirled over the Tenmile Range; quite a scary situation with skis on my back and long falls possible along the final ridge push! At the microwave tower I took shelter at the maintenance shed and eventually decided to take my skis off my pack and walk with them/drag them, which proved to be a much better situation. The few times it got scary, I just got down on all fours and crawled along the ridge -- I'd rather look undignified than dead! Left my skis near the top of the snow field (making sure they were *firmly* planted in the snow), and made it to the summit pretty uneventfully from there.
Returning to my skis after a few moments of enjoying the summit, I waited for a calm moment and dropped in to 4th of July Bowl around 13,450 feet. Got a little bit scary for a minute traversing over ..." — wazoheat • Jun 20, 2022

"Hiked up Peak 6 from the top of Kensho, skied into the Peak 5 col to try out the new northern boundary of Breck...*horrible* snow conditions (wind-blown, sun-baked, re-frozen) caused me to drop in early, and they stayed terrible most of the way down. Skied all the way to Peak 7 base to prepare for my next adventure..." — wazoheat • Apr 30, 2022

"Skied 4th of July Bowl; was originally thinking I would summit peak 10 but got turned around by time and equipment constraints. Did one quick lap at the bottom, then hiked towards the top of the snow field. Stopped at 13,150 feet, snow slope was around 45˚ and only got steeper above where I stopped. Would have needed an ice axe and/or crampons to continue safely (for my risk tolerance) on that route. Snow was fairly soft and made for a very enjoyable August ski session." — wazoheat • Aug 14, 2019

"Did my first three-summit day at Breckenridge. Hiked Peak 8 (twice), Peak 7, and Peak 6 summits, with ski descents from each. No huge feat on the mountaineering scale (I was starting from the top of the highest lifts) but still something I've been wanting to try for years.
This was the first Peak 8 hike. Skied along the ridge to the south...was originally thinking of skiing Wacky's Chute but the entrance was very sketchy. Skied along the Snow White rope back to Imperial Lift." — wazoheat • Apr 23, 2019

This was my final hike of the day. Summited Peak 6 from the top of Kensho Superchair, skied down into Beyond Bowl." — wazoheat • Apr 23, 2019
