"A rather difficult climb due to trail conditions. Near the top there was thick ice which made footing difficult. Ice spikes helped but didn’t guarantee footing. Views atop were great." — drewromesser • Feb 17, 2024
"Beautiful out and back with my lovely girlfriend Lisa Crandall, temps about -1 to -4c on the summit with limited views and about 6" of soft granular snow, breaking the way with snowshoes to the summit and back. Perfect day to be out on the trails working on the Saranac Lake 6er challenge with a fire tower bonus!" — ramjet1963 • Jan 27, 2024
"Hiked with Tom today. 34 degrees with a light flurry near the summit. Snowshoes up and down. Trail was post holed for the 1st 1/4 mile till the first side trail then great to the summit. The tower is open but no view today rather a heavy fog. 3 hr 10 min drive to do a hour and 10 min r/t hike. Crazy! But another tower hike completed." — garyogden • Jan 27, 2024
"An uneventful hike out and back on a -14 to -27c on the summit with light winds but a winter wonderland hike as part of the Saranac 6er challenge, Only hiker of the day out and back recorded at register on a beautifully snowshoe packed trail" — ramjet1963 • Jan 20, 2024
"Tom and I arrived at the trailhead 9:48 am under cloudy and windy skies. Parking area was vacant but for us. Snowshoes up and down. Broke trail to the summit in 54 minutes. Heavy winds on the summit. Took some pics and decended back to car in 27 minutes. Nice morning hike with great views." — garyogden • Jan 14, 2024
