Today I am going to the Natural Zone of Cabo Tiñoso, the sea and the mountains meet here in this place that is full of disused military fortifications.
They can be visited and some even seem to be being rehabilitated.
At the top of the Picadera I have lunch inside a bunker while I wonder what the soldiers in charge of the place would eat in the fifties.
In the Atalayon the military buildings are neoclassical in style and with solid walls, they dominated the entire bay of Mazarrón and were almost impregnable places. The vegetation and numerous birds are now witnesses of these places that have been detained in time.
