- From sign: "The Arco hill has a height of 1,668 meters above sea level, it belongs to the Mendoza foothills. Hill that serves for the preparation of ascent of high peaks. Various sports activities are carried out, such as paragliding, trekking, etc. It is known for the number of television and radio repeater antennas located on its top, which is distinguished at night by its lights. The hill receives its name in homage to Sergeant Major Antonio Arcos, General San Martín's aide-de-camp and Álvarez Condarco's collaborator in the geographical survey prior to crossing the Andes. Oral traditions say that Arcos visited this place as a strategic viewpoint, mounting guards in the war of independence."
