Did it on snowshoes in one push. We started at around 2:30am, which was a good call. Wet and isothermal snow after a week of unusually warm weather really slowed us down below the treeline.
Technically speaking, Cathedral Mountain is just a steep hike. However, a large portion of the travel is on a glacier and the route is exposed to serious avalanche danger in several places. One serious avalanche prone area extends for over a kilometer. The ascent involves a fair bit of sidesloping on the steep slopes, where a slip can lead to a serious injury.
In summary, despite technical "easiness" this mountain is recommended for winter ascent only for experienced adventurers.
