I climbed Castle Hill 1067m and ventured further up Hohonu Ridge by walking from the Kumara - Inchbonnie Road. The Eastern Hohonu River track was used for a bit under 400m then I started heading up the prominent ridge that first runs East and then SE up to Castle Hill and Hohonu Ridge.
It was a hot clear day and great views were to be had into the interior of the Hohonu Range and out over Lake Brunner.
