"As far as I can determine, Buzzard Hill is the 7th highest named highpoint in Indiana, as well as the Elkhart County HP. At the time of this report this website claimed Buzzard Hill was the 28th highest with an elevation of only 955 feet. This is incorrect. Its actual elevation is over 1040 feet. My son, Marshall, and I tried to access this highpoint from the north, but there was a high posted fence. We did find an open gate leading to a storage facility for the city's transportation department, but no one was there. This would have actually been a good place to begin a climb of Buzzard Hill, but we did not want to take a chance of getting my car stuck behind a locked gate. We drove to the south side of Buzzard Hill and decided to ask permission at the same house John Hasch did, according to his trip report. This proved to be a good choice. We were met by a friendly lady who granted us permission to park on her property and begin our hike, but she did inform us that she did not own Buzzard Hill.
