" A strenuous hike to reach Bonneville Peak, the highest spot in Southeastern Idaho at 9,262 feet (per our GPS gadget, 9,226 feet per other sources). The first 4.25 miles uses the snow cat trail for Pebble Creek Ski Area. There is no trail after you reach the top of the PC Ski Area. You then have the pleasure of forging your own, alternating between class 3 scrambling up rock slides and bush-wacking through heavy forest with lots and lots of dead fall. Once you get to the ridge, it's a simple walk, for the most part, to the summit. There is a cairn there, but no register. The views from the top are unsurpassed in this area. Too bad it was a hazy day." — philvb • Jul 7, 2012
