"Fun hike with Abby! We were treated with a tour of the firetower and introduction to using the wheel to pinpoint a fire from Arthur! He hooked up Abby with some swag. Bugs were annoying but when rain kept them at bay on the way back. Was fun! " — dennis-van-amburgh • May 24, 2025
"Gorgeous day with temperatures near freezing and minimal clouds, although quite windy on exposed sections. I set off from the trailhead around 12:15pm and began the loop counterclockwise, heading towards Blue Job first. The trail was nicely packed down with only a few steep and slushy sections that required some extra footwork. I thought about putting on microspikes a few times but ended up barebooting the entire hike. The Blue Job summit is marked by a fire tower. I climbed up and had great 360-degree views, although they were partially blocked by trees. I took some pictures but didn’t stay too long because I had heard Little Blue Job had the best views. I left the Blue Job summit along the Pond Trail, which did indeed have a frozen pond at the col between the two peaks. After climbing the small incline to Little Blue Job, I was simultaneously met with the summit cairn and a blast of wind which blew off my hood. The wind was around 35mph, but the ambient temperature was warm enough to let me enjoy the summit without feeling limited by the cold. The views from Little Blue Job are spectacular and unobstructed. I was lucky with clear visibility of several of the mountains of southern..." — JCalautti • Feb 28, 2025
"Some trail maintenance for the Trailwrights as I work towards some patches. Only gained about 3.5 hours of time. The fire tower cabin was occupied so I got to go up there and learn how the fire watchers do there job. That was neat. " — newenglandwarrior • Apr 30, 2022
"My recently acquired jeep got me to the Scruton Rd gated trailhead. After enjoying the 360° views atop Little Blue Job, I went down the other side to check out the pond from the loop around it. Since it was a nice day I followed the white blazed trail up to the FireTower for a short spell, then followed a couple different trail sections back to the pond (there are so many!)" — SteveM_StickMan • Apr 19, 2021
"Took the family on this hike. 34 degrees very windy on the summit and tower. Snow showers at times. Very icy trail and running water on the trail. Especially icy on the northern facing descent. Not a lot of hikers but the lot was full. Started at 11:59 1/2 mile to summit at 12:33. Departed Summit at 12:41 .7 miles to the car. Finished at 1:34. In good weather it would be a very easy hike.

"A quick late afternoon hike to knock off another active Fire Tower/Farmington NH high point from the list. I wore my new microspikes this time... definitely needed here. Made it to the top before the sunset and clouds ruined the 360 degree view, which is still pretty impressive. Not enough time to check out Little Blue Job... another day." — SteveM_StickMan • Jan 12, 2021
"Picked a short hike today since it was the first time wearing new hiking boots. Weather was great, good views of Mount Washington but man, did my feet hurt! Few Black flies and gnats. " — rjnick • May 19, 2018
"Beautiful day to hike with Kiki to work on her Fire Quest Patch...what a view from this little peak (even better at little Job). Thanks to the QR code provided by a 4th grade class Kiki was able to know all of the mountains we could see on this 360 degree view. " — shay-shay • Jan 16, 2017
"After visiting Little Blue Job, by mistake, I dropped back down to the pond and up to the tower. Third tower today and each one had the access to the cab locked. Little Blue Job was a better summit." — Nimblefoot • Aug 27, 2016
"A little bit muddy for the hike today making the climb up a tad slippery. Had the summit to myself with great views. Could see the Presidentials and Belknap mountains to the north, west to Monadnock and Wachusett and the view to the east stretched all the way to the Atlantic ocean!" — rjnick • Mar 26, 2016
