Day and peak 2 of a week long mountaineering trip. This one took us up onto a flat glacier beneath Peak Semenova Tian-Shanski, the highest in the area where we discussed how easy it looked to bypass the bergschrunds and reach the summit. We went up a scree slope to a col and then along a ridge and then the Russian guides fixed a rope up a rock gully in the difficult scrambling class for the Canadian Rockies and we jumared up and along the ridge to a nice summit. Rapped off with Vladimir our head guide without helmet performing a fireman's belay in the drop zone and Yuri our other guide puffing away on a cigarette and managing the rappel!
