"First 1.5mi is easy trail to a fully melted out boulder field followed by steep chossy gully. Following some easy terrain after gully, one section of steep snow (35-40 degrees?) ice axe needed but crampons unnecessary. Crossed shallow moat at end of snow and ascended a class 4 (big holds) notch on left. Tree at top of notch has rappel slings to avoid down-climb. Continued on easy terrain to summit block. Ascended middle 5.6 route to summit. Light alpine rack, cams on smaller end 0.3 - 1 + a couple micro cams came in handy. " — Trystan • Jun 20, 2015
"Set out to summit Unicorn, but visibility was poor. We turned too soon after exiting the bowl (should have gained more elevation before turning). Had to descend after cliffing out, traversed a number of very sketchy snow fields, ascended to gain the ridge up a very steep couloir with bad runout. Followed the ridge to the summit, then saw Unicorn across the saddle :( Fun glissade down though. Another group had attempted Unicorn and gotten lost, then correctly summited the day we went - should have just followed them!" — diana • Jun 16, 2012
