Highlights
- Unspoilt quiet peak in a beautiful setting with great views of its neighbours and beyond. I watched a Golden Eagle transit down Glencoe then disappear in the Appin direction without seeing it’s wings flap once in all the miles I followed it.

Ample parking in lay-by on inside of bend on the A82 - be careful driving out, also on the short road walk to the farm track as there’s a bridge section with no verge or footway

MEALL LIGHICHE - Corbett, Marilyn, Simm

Anti-clockwise round of quiet unspoilt, rugged hills in clear weather. Great views of Beinn a’Bheithir, Bidean, Aonach Eagach, Appin and out to Mull. Just me on the hill today in contrast to recent outings in the area which have all been mobbed (by Scottish standards). Lots of steep grassy slopes. I’m told there is a path up Ulaidh from the Lighiche col but I didn’t see anything until above 800m. Ref the short bypass path around the holiday cottages subject to much adverse comment in the past: I was pleased to discover much effort has been expended laying rocks, stepping stones and sleepers to make a decent path that now keeps your feet dry, so no reason not to use it. I was also pleased to find that the pretty Glen and it’s cascading stream has thus far..." — davidb • Sep 23, 2020
"Alone. From the Glen Coe road walked via Gleann-leac-na-Muidhe to Meall Ligiche. Continued to Sgor na h-Ulaidh and Stob an Fhuarain. Descended to Gleann-leac-na-Muidhe. Very warm, sunny and clear." — peter43 • May 11, 1985
"Staying at Onich CHA Guest House Continuous rain in the morning bur eventually I went out alone. I walked from the Guest House to Glen Coe using the ferry. Went up the private road to Gleann-leac-na-muidhe and to Bealach Easan. The summit of Sgor na h-Ulaidh was reached. Thick mist made navigation difficult. A descent in the direction of Aonach Dubh a' Chlinne was attempted but was not successful as difficulties were met. As time was short and thick mist still prevailed the original route was retraced. Got a bus back to Onich." — peter43 • Sep 2, 1970
