"Failed attempt on San Sevaine lookout via Bullock Spur / Old 1N36. I wholeheartedly recommend staying far, far away from this "route". The first part of the firebreak is fine, but the brush quickly closes in at about the 2600' level. There's a random 10 ft class 3 scramble as welcome relief along the firebreak. Once you hit the 1N36 road bed it just gets worse. The chaparral has overrun this road. I pushed through, wearing shorts and suffering greatly, to about 4000'. The grade lessens a bit there which means the whitethorn has had more chance to move in. There's an impenetrable wall of 8 ft whitethorn bushes on the ridge up to 1N34. I had hoped to bail off down to 1N34 but that to was blocked by whitethorn. My only option was to suffer back down 1N36. What a miserable route." — edg • Mar 17, 2019

"Not even half as bad as Buck Point, as far as clipping your way through. It's a little easier to get through now. Didn't pick up any ticks.
The "trail" is an old abandoned road, clogged with brush.
The "trail" leads down to a saddle, then up to the old lookout." — thesearcherextraordinaire • Oct 19, 2012
