"Really fun day, hadn't been out in the mountains much this summer sadly, but before I left for school I wanted to do a large day and Rundle has been on the to-do list for a few years now - so I had to give it a shot. The weather was nice but the Dragon Spine got pretty hot going down, so 3 litres of water is definitely useful on warm days. Even though it's nothing technical it is still a long day as it took us around 10 hours to do. " — snowsurfer • Aug 22, 2019
"The scramble took 9 hours. Warm day! 25C. I climbed up with Tate and Chloe, Matt, Andy and Jasper. The Dragon's back was narrow and a little difficult due to 20-30 km wind gusts. There was a lot of scree near the top. Great view of Banff, Cascade and Sulphur mountain.

"The full traverse from Canmore to Banff. The first day, we made it in between peaks 8 and 9 where we spent the night. The second day we continued on to bag the final 3 peaks before descending the normal scramble route of the West end. An awesome trip." — matt-robinson • Aug 13, 2016
"- Hiked with Amy Schappert, Lorelle Weavers, and Tyson Saker
- Tyson failed to mention he was scared of heights (got a little challenging at the dragon’s back)
- Lorelle had troubles coming down (kept falling and had a prior quad injury)
- Great hike to say you’ve done it, but not an overly enjoyable scramble

"Mostly cloudy, about 30 to 40kph wind, temperature from about +14c at the bottom to about +4c at the top, a few sprinkles of rain. Lots of recent rock and sand washed down the slope near the top of the dragon back. Real tough struggle up the last 100m of elevation gain because of loose rock and scree. Rick from Waterton and Myself. Left camera at home, picture from Sulphur, taken Februarey of 2012. Only one other young man on the trail. 50th mountain since the first of the year... half way there, half way through the year! Elevation gain for the trip 1570m, YTD elevation gain 32522m." — MtnJohn • Jun 29, 2012
"This one was my first AB and Rockies peak. It was a weekend trip from Vancouver to go with a realtor on Saturday and put an offer on a house. Sunday with nothing to do we looked in Kane book and somehow Mt Temple (drawn by talk of highest) but it was closed due to bear so off to Mt Rundle and we went for it. Being from sea level and not experiencing dry AB...I forgot my water and was totally parched on the treadmill of this ascent.

"Myself and 3 Army friends were on 2 weeks R&R whilst being based in BATUS. After hitting Edmonton and Calgary, we headed to Banff before going on to Jasper and Vancouver on an epic road trip. Whilst there, we explored the trails and near by peaks of this beautiful area. This one was a bit of a beast, quite a scramble with some tricky sections especially towards the top. Was quite chilly in the wind as well. The views were fantastic and worth the effort. Not overly difficult, tricky, but achievable. " — HikingViking • Sep 29, 1990
