"Another late afternoon trip to the high points of the towns of Danville and Kingston. Started out at Emerald and Opal. Had hoped to summit East Peak first but missed the turn-off. Will have to pay more attention next time. Views from this one are still good even though it was cloudy. I wandered around looking for any USGS marker. None found. After I went over to East Peak, which was predictably treed in, I followed the unofficial trail for about a 1/4 mile to see where it went. I was looking for an alternate way back to the state park road I explored the last time. It continued along the ridge until it started descending but in the wrong direction so I turned around and descended the usual way back to my car." — SteveM_StickMan • Sep 23, 2023
"A late afternoon trip to the high points of the towns of Danville and Kingston. Started out at the small parking area near Emerald and Opal. Well marked trail to the open rocky summit with great views to the south and west. Took the side trail to the East Peak, which was treed in. Did some exploring of the Kingston State Forest area along the dirt road." — SteveM_StickMan • Mar 22, 2021
