"From Refugio de Vegarredonda. On a Waymark Holidays trip led by Tony Rogers. After ascending Pico Cotalba and to Torre de la Canal Vaquera. Most scrambled up Poyón Sur. I led the way (grade II) directly to the summit of El Requexón (2103m) with four others. The way was up broken rocks to a minor col, then upwards to the base of a waterworn chimney (the rock is a kind of limestone). The chimney is climbed – it is near vertical, and towards the top a traverse is made leftwards on a steep exposed slab which is climbed to easier ground and the summit. We descended on the east side and awaited the others. They made a skirting route to the south, finding a reasonable line. Three of the party climbed El Requexón the easier way. I led the others back to the refugio." — peter43 • Sep 5, 1994
