"The trip up was steep (over 1000ft in 1 mile) but excellent trail to 2843. Had to follow an overgrown firebreak to Silver Mountain. From there I completely lost the trail – DO NOT follow my route down, it is certainly wrong and ended in some spicy gully traversing and lots of bushwhacking. " — bheliker • Dec 15, 2018
"This was my consolation prize after a failed attempt on Silver and Pine. I tried to avoid the mistake other trip reports have made by staying true to the fire road and not taking use trails. Well it didn't take long before the fire road became so overgrown that I could no longer follow it, and had to take a use trail anyways. Some sections of the trail were meticulously maintained, which leads me to believe there may be some guieralla gardening up in some of the canyons, just for fair warning. Just making the ridgeline took 2 hours of steep bushwacking, and I realized I wouldn't have time for both Silver and Pine before dark. Since you need to go over Silver to get Pine anyways, I figured I'd be back, and scrambled up this subpeak before heading over to Glendora Peak as a backup." — Christopher • Nov 10, 2012
