"Drove from Omeo out to Benambra, then out Limestone Road and up Mt Misery Road up to Mount Misery. Stopped and walked to the high point. Returned to the car and drove around to west of Peak 1647 to park. Walked east to the summit of Peak 1647 VK3/VG-008 Mt Misery range. I set up and activated, making 19 contacts. Returned to the car and drove around to Peak 1628 m to park. Walked to the summit and set up to activate VK3/VG-009, making 21 contacts. Packed up and returned to the car. Drove back to Limestone road and drove around to Johnnies Top. I set up near the summit marker and made 16 contacts from VK3/VG-013. packed up and drove back down, then around to below Peak 1189 m, aka VK3/VG-053. Walked to the top before setting up the gear closer to the vehicle to activate VK3/VG-053, making 6 contacts. Packed up and drove back to Benambra, then out to Peak 1285 m aka VK3/VG-036 to activate and made 21 contacts. packed up and returned to Omeo for the night." — peterfreeman • Oct 14, 2020
"A day out around Omeo with Rik VK3EQ. We met at Swifts Creek and then travelled in my vehicle to Mount Baldhead VK3/VG-027. Set up near the summit and made 7 contacts. We then travelled around to Mount Delusion VK3/VT-026. where I made 6 contacts. Next we traversed across to Birregun Road and headed south to Mount Birregun VK3/VT-020 to set up near the summit, making 7 contacts. packed up and headed to Mount Phipps to set up at the summit, making 5 contacts. Headed towards Omeo and around to Peak1285 m to set up at the summit and made 8 contacts. "A couple of SOTA summits as detours on a trip to Wodonga. Drove to Swifts Creek and then made my way around to Peak 1285 m, known in SOTA as VK3/VG-036. Walked to the high point and set up the radio gear nearby, making 10 contacts. Packed up and returned to the Great Alpine Road and into Omeo. I then drove to Sam Hill and parked. I again walked to the top of the hill before setting up the station nearby, making 15 contacts to qualify VK3/VG-049. Packed up and returned to Omeo and then drove over Mount Hotham and on to Wodonga." — peterfreeman • Sep 7, 2018
