"Our group road walked a mile to Skylight Pond Tr and ascended to the Long Trail. We then headed over to Breadloaf and Wilson. We had some navigational challenges with Breadloaf. Snow cover, open woods, and looking for white blazes in the winter made us lose the trail. It took some time to locate it. Getting up to Wilson was quick. Beautiful day today but these 2 peaks have nothing for views. We wore snowshoes the whole day despite not having much snow at lower elevations. " — newenglandwarrior • Jan 15, 2023
"Thanksgiving Weekend in the mountains of Vermont 🏔🏕🥾❤️
Completed the Presidential Traverse as our first thru-hike.
A wild and incredible adventure. Tough as my heath was not the best but this trip were had been planning turned out to be perfect.
We had sunshine, and snow, fresh air and a little bit of rain.
First time sleeping in a shelter along a trail, and it was great, woke up to snow falling and finding a little mouse taking shelter in my pack haha 😂
Over 15.5 hours of hiking, 34.7 km and over 7 mountains. And more of the Vermont long trail.
🏔⛰🏕🥾❤️" — Littlefoot • Oct 8, 2022
"Started day two of my hiking trip by changing my mind from the loop from Glen Cooley to Emily Proctor and making the decision to hike from Skylight Pond. In the end I would have wished that did the big loop as I felt really good all day long. Weather was perfect and I had the trail basically to myself all day only seeing a couple people on my way back to the car. Lots of signs of moose, but didn't see one at all. "Attempted this hike back in the winter but was turned back by heavy snow pack. I took the Skylight Pond Trail to the Long Trail &
followed it north to bag both Bread loaf & Wilson. I knew there were few if any views along the way, but was actually rewarded with
some nice glimpses of Grant, Mt. Abe, Camel's Hump, & Mt. Mansfield at different points. An added bonus to the trip was seeing a
black bear cross the forest road in front of me on the way back." — billsussdorff • Jun 18, 2019
"Headed up the Emily Proctor trail to hit Bread Loaf and Wilson....a bit steeper than we thought it would be but a great workout! Beautiful day in the snow with very few views. " — shay-shay • Dec 8, 2017
