"We had hiked up to Wedgemont Lake earlier in the year and saw a nice scramble up the South East Ridge. We made it a 3 day trip spending the night in the Hut and the rising early to scramble up the steep ridge. The view on the top was spectacular. It was a climb that really got us both hooked on mountaineering. The day started with high cloud and on the 3 rd day down we descended in a heavy rain. " — andrewbrintnell1 • Sep 29, 1983
"We had been up to Wedge Mont Lake the year before and we saw a route we could scramble up with out putting ourselves on the glaciers or the cliffs at the 7,000 ft mark. From the cabin we scrambled on a diagonal from the hut to an upper bench, The bench was above the cliff band and led us to a system of ledges on to a scree slope that took us far above the Wedge Mont Glacier. This led us on to the SW ridge which followed up to the false summit and finally to the north peak which is the actual summit. THE VIEWS WERE AMAZING of The Weart Glacier Wedge Mtn. And the lake below. The scramble down was tedious and exhausting. We spent a second night in the cabin and hiked out Sunday morning. It was raining quite hard by the time we got down to the cars." — andrewbrintnell • Aug 27, 1983
