"I spent the night in Omeo. Headed out through Benambra and north towards Corryong, turning on to Eustace Gap Track and then King Spur Track. The latter was a little rough in places with regrowth and large spoon drains. Managed to drive to just below Toke Gibbo VK3/VG-028. Walked to the summit and set up the radio gear, where I made 23 contacts. I packed up and returned to the car, then retraced my access route. on the way, I stopped and climbed the short distance from the track to the top of Wheeler Gibbo. Resuming the route north, I continued to an unnamed track heading SE which took me out almost to Peak 1406 m, VK3/VE-053. I climbed to the summit and set up the gear, making 11 contacts on this first radio activation of the SOTA summit. I packed up and retraced my route back to the start of Eustace Gap Track, then headed north and took Wild Boar Track out to Mt Sassafras. I walked up to the summit and again set up, this time making 5 contacts before packing up and heading back to Omeo and then up to Mount Hotham for the night." — peterfreeman • Feb 2, 2018
"I headed out past Tallangatta and then south on Tallangatta Creek Road. Well down the valley I turned into Cravensville Road and climbed up onto the top of the range. At the ridge line, I turned right into Gibb Range Road and travelled about 5.3 km to an embarkation point that I have used previously to head to the first summit for the day.
Gibb Range VK3/VE-069 1289 m 8 points
The access route that I used followed an old access track to a logging coup, then another track to the edge of the coup and then along the coup boundary to the summit. The regrowth has become thicker since my last visit – perhaps a scrub bash from the eastern side might be considered next time. I set up near the summit.
Twenty minutes of operating on 40 m SSB yielded 12 contacts, all on 40 m SSB. I packed up and retraced my route to the vehicle. I then travelled on along Gibb Range Road to Beetoombah Spur Track and headed north.

Wabba Wilderness Park VKFF-0944
I again set up in the scrub on the east side of the track, which marks the boundary of the Park. Once on air, I worked 12 stations in about eleven minutes. I heard Rob VK4AAC/2 calling, very wea..." — peterfreeman • Dec 23, 2017
"Another day out from Wodonga, this time with Bernard VK2IB. We met on the edge of Wodonga and I loaded myself and my gear into Bernard's 4WD. We headed towards Corryong before heading south on the Benambra Corryong Road before taking Scrubby Creek Track. We parked at the high point of the track to the west of the summit. We had an easy walk up the spur to the summit of Peak 1407 m, where we set up the radio gear before activating VK3/VE-051. I made 16 contacts. We returned to the car and continued east, around to Dunstans Road and then headed west on Six Mile Ridge Track to reach the shoulder of Peak 1393 m VK3/VE-056 Six Mile Ridge. We walked to the summit proper and set up in a nice clearing just north. I made 19 contacts. We then continued along Six Mile Ridge Track with a very steep decent to Wheelers Creek Road and headed west to Benambra Corryong Road. We headed south to reach Wild Boar Track and drove out to the shoulder of Mount Sassafras VK3/VE-029. We set up at the trig and I made 21 contacts. The points for this summit took me to over 1000 points as an Activator, qualifying me for Mountain Goat.
