"JDC  Mount Judge Crerar. “Nasty, brutish, and short”?  “Bald up top and unpleasant down below?” Actually a grand adventure, albeit one that requires graduate–level  bushwhacking skills. 
As you can see from the track, we crossed the Norvan Falls suspension bridge, and made a beeline down to Lynn Creek, and a fairly easy ford crossing. And then the formidably steep climb up the ridge. A bit nasty and vegetative at the base, but once cleared, we were able to zigzag up the ridge, always finding a route. Lots of lovely old growth giants, the first grove of which we named “Millen Grove” and the second “Cowell Grove”, after our fellow hardy adventurers. A few scrubby sections of blueberry were readily punched through with brute force. There is a preliminary summit, which we christened “Harry Crerar peak“, before a short dip down, and a scrubby climb to the true summit. The views are of a lesser Forks: this balcony above the Hanes Valley offers interesting perspectives on Zinc, the Needles, Goat Ridge, and Forks itself.
