"West slopes. A bit of bushwhacking. After initially taking left side of the main drainage/ depression I got into steep slabs higher up , traversed right and found wide steep scree ramp. This one got me to the summit ridge just below S peak. I went to the north peak first , had to drop about 50 m elevation, scramble was necessary . Then visited S peak ( with register). According to my gps N peak is about 3015 m, S peak 3011-12m high. On my descend I took the same big ramp although I went down lower. Then traversed to the right to avoid unfriendly slabs. Some routefinding. Quite a bit of scramble sections, mostly rather shorter ones. " — Pawel G • Aug 19, 2023
"Kent Ridge North Outlier and North Peak to Mt. Inflexible. Hot. Smoky.
The Kent Ridge peaks were straight forward, the fun begins traversing to Inflexible. Care was needed down climbing loose terrain that I would also consider “delicate”… don’t trust a single hold! I felt route finding was only a slight challenge, mostly because I was happy with my decisions. I did have few short backtracks after being cliffed out. I don’t think this mountain isn’t climbed often, so any significant trails aren’t likely from people traffic. The summit register at Inflexible was out there in 1994. I didn’t count, but there was maybe only a couple dozen names in there. To the North, there is another peak that looked like it could be taller. So I decided to go for it just in case it’s the true high point. I think it is. However, getting there was tricky. A little down climbing, a little scrambling, and some scree bashing. I tried to stick to the ridge but it was notched. More fun came with the descent of the west face. It looks gnarly from a distance, and it’s gnarly close up. if you’re not on super steep slab, you’re on moderately steep slab with loose gravel. I don’t think there’s an establis..." — ivo • Sep 3, 2022
"It was a tough day. Didn't get enough sleep, other stress. The weather was also of concern. I forgot how tedious the scree going upto Lawson is. The ridge travel was pretty good. Sometimes one uses the trails as a bypass, other times the obstacles are takled are head-on. Some solid downclimbs. Scrambled up a slabby section that was not so solid, and if I biffed I could have slid down a long ways. Found a better way down." — BertB • Jul 21, 2018
"Leg day: Little Lawson - "Lawson South Peak" - Mt Lawson - Mt Inflexible - Kent Ridge - North Kent Outlier
20km with 2,271m gain; 13:45 hrs car-to-"car"
A planned alpine climb got postponed because of high freezing levels, decided to do a fairly long scramble. Initially planned to close the loop, i.e. scramble up from Little Lawson to Inflexible, traverse to Kent ridge and come down back to the car via it (see the map). Supposed to be relatively quick, with the hardest section between Lawson and Inflexible.
Though reality was quite different. Started at 6:35am; finished at Sawmill parking lot at 8:20pm.
Here is times and some notes for each summit:
Little Lawson Peak - 8:05am
Very straightforward, nice little hike with good view.
"Lawson South Peak" - 9:40am
Beautiful ridgewalk with easy scrambling. Not sure why it's unnamed but it's a pretty prominent peak on that ridge; there is a cairn at the "summit" and elevation is at 2,679m
Mt Lawson - 11:35am
Solid moderate scrambling and continuation of the ridgewalk with superb views. Spent about 35-40mins at the summit.
Mt Inflexible - 1:40pm
Though rate as "difficult", the only bad section was slab spiced with l..." — alexp • Jul 3, 2017
