"Hiked Moose Mt. via the parking lot at the Moose Mt. Reservation at the end of New Portsmouth Rd. Took the fork where there is a bridge that crosses a stream. The trail "ends" on all trails about a 1/2 up. Just follow the cairns all the way up. much of the way is granite top covered in blueberries. If you are bushwhacking hard then you got off. Follow a narrow game trail up to another granite top. There is a fire ring up there that looks like it gets some use. Smokey the bear nor the reservation rules would not approve. up and to the left a well cut trail marked with pink ribbon every 10 yards or so takes you up to the top. Blueberries are in full season right now. Hot, sunny, and 92. Not much of a view from up top. " — FL2NH • Jul 20, 2020
"This isn't a particularly "hiker friendly" mountain..I've been here 3 times and this is the first time I've made the summit. The first time I took the trails up until they stopped. When I got back down I asked the chick at the lodge if there was a map for the mountain and she said no, there aren't really any hiking trails. So the second time I mapped a bushwhack to the top where the trails stop and got turned back by a thunderstorm. Today, used the same bushwhack and made the top. If you take the ATV trail that starts to the far left of the lodge, it will take you up to where the ski lift stopped. You can also get to this same point by following the ski lifts though it is more difficult, steep, and theres hardly a path to follow (I took this route the first time). Once you pass this area continure on the ATV trail. Immediately there will be a fork, stay right to see the views as you climb or go left to stay under tree cover. You'll come to an area with a large boulder you can stand on with an excellent view of Copple Crown. Continue up and you'll come to a relatively flat area where you can follow some small rock piles. This is where the bushwhack begins. I wouldn't recommend this ..." — Selrahc2nd • Sep 26, 2013
