"Day 4 of Eastern Sierra backcountry skiing trip. Our original objective was the classic Pinner Couloir, but a recent slide had piled up the debris and reports and conditions meant it would be rock-hard. So we just picked out a route up Little Morrison up from Convict Lake and started skinning. Josh, with his torn bicep tendon injury from our ascent of Independence Peak 2 days earlier, headed up alone toward the Old Mans Bowl while the rest of us branched off a bit earlier and zigged up the main east-facing slide path. It got steep and icy near the top but barely made it to the summit ridge on just skins and harscheisens. From the summit we caught overviews of the Pinner and Mini Pinner coulies. Incredibly aesthetic lines. Have to ski them someday! Morrison looked immense from up there. With a cloud system rolling in, we clicked in and were down in the corn in a few min. The corn bomb was deafening!! " — scott • Apr 23, 2011
