"Jenna and I did a twofer today. I have been up Midnight Peak before via the Spirko winter route, but never via Baldy Pass. Luckily, it is very dry, although there are a few spots with avi potential and windslab closer to the summit. We chose our route accordingly. " — leigh-annewebster • Jan 6, 2024
"The Cinderella Bitch Slap, 7h30 C2C. Smoke rolled in super early on, views were trash. Hell of a link up though. Tiara is a choss pile held together by moss. Scramble for sure. My route up Midday was also a scramble, just went straight for the summit trying to use as much solid rock as possible. All the others along the way are nice east running, some good fun trying to go fast on the many ridges you incounter. " — justinj • Aug 14, 2021
"Paul and I thought we'd try and get a season opener in along the front range. Turns out some recent heavy snow in K-Country made it a bit more of a hardcore outing. Anyway, always a great day out and better than working." — danradu • Mar 25, 2021
"After only doing 5 out of the 7 peaks in the Porcupine Traverse in October, it was nice to return and finish the final two peaks on their own. The slog up Midnight was uneventful and monotonous as usual. The ridge walk between the two peaks was surprisingly fun, with great views and fun narrow sections (avoidable)." — yuri • Dec 5, 2020
"A very pleasant outing and my dog really liked this one lol. I had attempted this peak in the past and found it difficult figuring out where to start ascending out of the creek. Once I finished the required bushwhacking I soon found there was eventually a more well worn in trail. From there getting to the summit is easy, just a little grind. There is one small scrambling section you have to go down on the way up and then back up on the way down. I took a picture of it on the way down from the summit. We had perfect conditions for today. "Porcupine Loop to Midnight Peak, with two adjacent peaks added (Baldy West & South). The added difficulty and duration to the trip is why we did the loop clockwise, so we could start with the difficult scrambling required on Baldy’s west ridge. No water on route and exposed to the sun along the ridge for the vast majority of the day. The heat got to us by the time we reached Tiara Peak." — ivo • Aug 2, 2020
"Ascended via Baldy Pass which is the trail I'd recommend for ascending and descending. Pretty easy to find this trail, and not too difficult. Descended via the west ridge and then the north drainage which was not too enjoyable and slowed us down considerably. No scrambling required. " — nathanwatt • Jul 4, 2020
"Completely missed the ascent ridge when hiking up the creek which made for a messy ascent until I got back on track. Wonderful weather up there today. Enjoyed a beer in the box, there was even a little devils lettuce, highball, and star wars figurine. Nice day to solo" — MarkJPerkins • May 29, 2020
"We started going up the mountain too early so we got stuck in a gully that did eventually lead to to top but we had to overcome a few rock bands that required a bit of scrambling- really fun route though! Took normal west ridge back down; tiring but great day. " — snowsurfer • Jun 9, 2019
"Via the North West Ridge from Baldy Pass. No snow until 150 meters from the ridge crest. The final 100 meters to the ridge was through knee deep (or more snow). The ridge walk was pleasant. Continued on the Midday and back to this one for descent.
Descent was on the North Ridge to Baldy Pass. Snowy most of the way down. Even the baldy pass hiking trail was covered. Do not recommend this route yet." — mike_rogers81 • May 12, 2019
