"A very interesting hill. The top is easily accessible from the south with a short walk. Below the summit are the archaeological remains of a roman villa, although settlements date to the 4th century BC. The site has been abandoned now which is a pity as it is of great interest. The walls are built with fist sized stones set in concrete in a diamond layout and it seems there are subterranean elements that are visible through wells with stone casings and a couple of places where the roof has fallen in. A line of what are presumably channels for water goes to the top from the settlement, though much is overgrown. The whole site is levelled by a huge polygonal wall that stretches for about 100 metres and is possible 5 metres high. It is collapsed in some places. Other places on the hill show other ancient buildings. The west side of this hill has been extensively quarried." — vygodski • Mar 13, 2024
